Facts you should know about your personality

Personality tests can help us articulate what we already intuitively feel. They can transform vague feelings about ourselves into concrete descriptions, providing vocabulary and frameworks that make it easier to understand our patterns, communicate our needs to others, and identify specific areas for personal growth.

Fact 6:

Personality is more nuanced than simple either-or classifications, with individuals displaying varying degrees of different characteristics. Traits represent ranges where most people fall somewhere in the middle rather than at the extremes.

Fact 3:

Transitions like becoming a parent, changing careers, or experiencing trauma can subtly shift traits over time. Often increasing maturity-related traits like responsibility or emotional stability.

Fact 2:

Most people believe they know themselves well, but often overestimate their positive qualities and underestimate their negative ones. We're often blind to our own flaws that are obvious to others. Our self-awareness can vary depending on factors like emotional intelligence and openness to feedback.

Fact 4:

The way we understand our own personalities is heavily influenced by cultural values and social expectations, which determine which traits we notice, emphasize, or dismiss about ourselves.  And we often don’t realize just how much we change depending on the situation we’re in.

Fact 5:

Core personality traits are relatively stable throughout adulthood. While we may learn new skills or adapt our behaviors to different situations, our core temperament and preferred ways of thinking and feeling typically persist throughout our adult lives.

Fact 1:

Strategic Leadership iQ | Liderazgo Estrategico | Framework: leadership + strategy + focus and self-mastery = iQx2

"To change our lives, we must fundamentally change the ways we think, act, and feel. We must change our state of being. Because how we think, feel, and behave is, in essence, our personality, it is our personality that creates our personal reality. So to create a new personal reality, a new life, we must create a new personality; we must become someone else."

—Joe Dispenza
